Wed - Nov. 28, 17 drill until 8:30 then get ready to go home. train leaves at 9:50 special arrived in Portland at 1:00 Went to see mother & took the 4:00 train to Dundee, got there & walked up and brought some things up from the store. Went to bed about 11:00 P.M. We picked a chicken. Read 3 chapters of the book, "Heart of the Sunset" (1). |
Thu - Nov. 29, 17 got up at 6:00 A.M. and wash dishes & cook Breakfast. Berniece played some music for me. The most thankful Thanks-giving of my life. I am very happy. Eat dinner about 2:00 P.M. start to Dundee at 3:15 for the 3:40 train. changed my mind and stayed for the 6:42. We all went to Newberg in the machine and waited for the train. got home about 8:30 ate a bite, got a lecture for not coming sooner. Went to the depot and got on the train about 12:15 and went to sleep. B_ gave me a note not to be read until Fri. noon. |
