Sat - Sept. 22, 1917 off guard at 7 A.M. Inspection at 9 A.M. assignment to 91st division at 9:30 A.M. receive other assignments later 4:30 P.M. we were assigned to field hospital unit C Barracks 21 33 transferred to Unit D. leaves 83 in our "Co." Donaldson's friend came up he was on guard escorted her around the cantonment until he was relieved Ball game this P.M. |
Sun - Sept. 23, 1917 nothing to do. No more guard duty for us Played ball all morning Wrote to Berniece this P.M. Went for a walk around the cantonment tonight. the whole place is alive with drafted men. looks like a carnival of some kind for men only Very few ladies to be seen anywhere and thousands of men Going to bed, it is trying to rain |
