got back about 9:00 P.M. left the crowd at 6th and Yamhill. sure had a good time. Mon - Aug. 27, 1917 Left home at 5:35 A.M. Mobilized at 6:00 A.M. left Portland for American Lake Wash. at 7:35 A.M. Ate lunch after leaving Centralia Wash. arrived at Camp Lewis 12:15 help set up tents answer roll call eat supper. Write to mother and Berniece and go on Guard duty... |
at 9 P.M. 2 hrs on and 4 hrs off. Tue - Aug. 28, 1917 Nothing to do except guard duty. off at 7 P.M. and then report for K.P., go with Corporal of the Guard and a few others in the Lake Bathing. Am now going to Bed. Wed - Aug. 29, 1917 Arise at 5:30 for K.P. on duty all day. Guard duty again tonight. Our mascot is getting to be some dog. |
