Guard duty is all for
today.

Fri - Aug. 31, 1917
Camp Police all morning
& learning General orders.
Had a cartoon drawing of
myself at noon
some picture too.

Sat - Sept. 1, 1917
Erected flag pole
recieved and wrote a
letter to Berniece
Capt. raised Old Glory
on our new flag pole
Guard duty at Base
hospital at 7:30PM.
a Co of Engineers are...


leaving today for France
going to N.Y. City first.
I sent cartoon to
Berniece. Took my
post at 9:50PM until 3:10AM
almost froze to death.

Sun - Sept. 2, 1917
Slept under a tree after
after I got off Guard at
3:10AM. Got up at 5:00
and came to camp and
raised the flag. ate
breakfast cleaned up
camp and decorated
with stones. Big
chicken dinner.
went to Murray (1) this
afternoon got
back just in time...
